- Do hard fort treks need a guide?
- Yes for Bhairavgad and Harihar, and strongly recommended for Salher and the Ratangad approach in poor weather. Vasota and Harishchandragad's Konkan Kada side also require local knowledge.
- Can hard forts be trekked in the monsoon?
- Not safely. Rock-cut steps and ladders become slick, visibility drops on exposed ridges and rescue is slow. October to February is the safe window for technical climbs.
